Paul
H. Berghoff

Paul
has extensive experience in the restaurant business.
His long term involvement with the Berghoff Restaurant,
Chicago's largest and oldest restaurant, during
different periods from 1960 through 1990 ended
as Chairman of the Board and Majority owner. During
this period, Paul spent time working for Saga
Food service managing the food service for 3 Catholic
Women's colleges in California. The main thrust
of his business career however has been as an
investment banker. The last 30 years he has been
president and majority stockholder in his Chicago
based bond firm, dealing exclusively in municipal
and corporate financing. As Chairman of Sportsplex
USA, the operator of the Poway sportspark, Paul
and his son Bill have developed the Poway sportspark
facility over the past 10 years into the premier
facility of it's kind in the country. Paul's experience
in business management and development, finance,
and restaurant operation is an invaluable resource.

Bill.
Berghoff
President |

Bill
has held various positions over his 10 year career
at Sportsplex. The first 2 years Bill was focused
exclusively on marketing and building a customer
base. As softball reached capacity he turned his
attention to operations and took over as General
Manager of Sportsplex. Bill's responsibilities
grew to include accounting, staffing, budgeting,
and marketing as well as being Sportsplex's liaison
with the City of Poway. Bill oversaw every aspect
of the construction of the roller hockey rink
in 1997 and the arena soccer rink in 2003. With
his father becoming Chairman of Sportsplex in
2000, Bill has assumed the position of President.
Bill provides expertise in the design components,
financial viability, marketing and overall operation
of sports complexes.

Bob
Thomas
Senior Vice President |

Bob
has enjoyed a long and distinguished career in
local government. Bob has 26 years experience
in local government including over 12 years as
Community Services Director for the City of Poway.
Bob's experience interacting in the public sector
with city council members, city management and
local citizen group is invaluable. Bob has experience
working with relevant city staff and project architects
from project review through project approval.
A few of his past projects include a performing
arts center, community library, community swim
center, sports complex, and numerous park projects.
Specific experience in implementing the City of
Poway sportspark include the development of the
project concept, selection of the architect and
management firm, and interaction with the management
firm once the project was completed and operational.

Sean
Melvin
Vice President |

Sean
has a well rounded background in the sporting
industry. In the 10 years Sean has been with Sportsplex
he has been a softball coordinator, a hockey coordinator,
a tournament director, a facility manager, and
ultimately in 2000 he became the General Manager.
Sean has been a player and a manager on highly
competitive traveling softball and hockey teams.
His travels with Team USA softball included a
trip to China in 1996. Sean has also visited numerous
sports complexes and developed a sound network
of contacts nationwide. Sean is San Diego's ASA
( Amatuer Softball Association) Adult Deputy Commisioner.

Jim
Tuyay
Vice President |

Jim
has been involved in recreation sports in Southern
California for over 25 years. He has run leagues
and tournaments in adult softball, youth baseball,
flag football, youth and adult volleyball and
high school baseball. Jim is the USSSA (United
States Specialty Sports Association) director
for San Diego. Jim has run over 500 tournaments
with over 100,000 participants. Jim also has
been instrumental in developing Sportsplex's
corporate tournament business. Before joining
Sportsplex Jim was in the banking industry for
over 15 years including 5 years as a Vice President
of Northern Trust Co.
